There were some exciting battles during the two 50 minutes races at Anderstorp when the Avon Tyres GT4 Trophy joined Swedish GT. Overall the Audi R8 LMS of Jan Brunstedt/Christer Lindholm dominated and won both races from pole. Matteo Babalus gave chase in Saturday´s race, driving alone as his co-driver became ill. The team then decided to withdraw from the Sunday event. In his absence the two other Ferrari 458 Challenge cars of of Christian Kinch/Philipp Baron and Tommy Lindroth/Björn Grossman took second and third. The GTB class was dominated by Patrik Skoog and his 17-year old son Henric – the latter showing great speed and transforming well from his usual Clio to the much more powerful Porsche 997.
The GT4 drivers put up a great show in both races with 16 competitive cars on the grid. The Las Moras Chevrolet Camaro´s of Pro drivers Bertus Sanders and Duncan Huisman – dominated first practice ahead of the Ekris BMW of Ricardo van der Ende and the Lotus Evora of Cor Euser. Best of the local GT4 cars – the Ricknaes Porsche in the hands of Philip Forsman – followed, just ahead of the similar car, driven by Adam Christodoulo. The Pro´s did the opening stint, before leaving to the Am´s after little more than half an hour. Sanders/Braams Camaro had an almost perfect race and took the flag six seconds ahead of the van der Ende/Knapp BMW with the HDI Gerling Corvette of Snoeks/Barten some five seconds further back. Philip Forsman had a strong stint with fastest lap, but Håkan Ricknäs crashed the Porsche later on, while avoiding for a Ferrari with a puncture. The damage was severe, meaning they couldn´t take part in the Sunday race. Euser/Severs (Lotus Evora) was fourth, Christodoulo/Viebahn fifth while Haglöf/Wallenberg took sixth and top position among the Swedish GT4 cars in their Aston Martin.
The Sunday race started in dry but after a few laps black skies covered the track, with rain soon falling heavily as the drivers tried to stay out on slicks, waiting for the pit window to open. Van der Ende took over from Simon Knapp as the leader and for a while looked almost certain for victory. But the Corvette of Kelvin Snoeks and the Camaro of Duncan Huisman came from behind and had a better pace as the circuit dried out a little by the end. The battle for top position continued until the last laps but it was the Snoeks/Barten Corvette which came home first ahead of Huisman/Braams and van der Ende/Knapp. The GT4 cars excelled in wet conditions and finished 2nd to 6th overall, only beaten by the Brunstedt/Lindholm Audi. West Coast Racing´s BMW – Peter Larsson/Thomas Karlsson – was best of the local GT4´s, finishing sixth in class.
